Breakfast of Champions & The Mail Route

It was strangely cold this morning when I finished work. Around 6:30 I left work and was shocked to see my car covered in frost. Those few days of 25 degree weather pretty much wiped my memory clean of the days of snow and frost. I also had to go searching in the trunk for an ice scraper. At work, they have this thing called ‘The Breakfast of Champions’. They pick people from every line and they get to go out for breakfast with the management. It was alright, free food, and also interesting to hear the perspective of people I don’t work closely with. I was feeling a little intimidated by the shift supervisor on my left and the rest of the guys around me having anywhere from 15 – 18 years seniority. But it was fun to put my opinions forward and to hear others. I got home just in time to help Debra get ready for the mail run. Hopefully she won’t get sick again after this run, she’s been trying to sleep during the night. Although last night she had trouble getting to sleep. This weekend we hope to get up to Durham to drop some stuff off at Debra’s grandma’s place, it’ll be nice to see her and to see how she’s settling in to life in Canada. Anyways, I’m off to shut the doors, close the blinds and head off to a nice day’s sleep.
