Well, its July 1st, also known as Canada Day. Tonight Norm and I are going to set up a few chairs out in the cow field, cover ourselves in mosquito repellent, grab a few snacks and watch the fireworks. This year the fireworks are going to be at the Orangeville Fairgrounds…which is lucky for us since we live on a hill just a few kilometers from the fairgrounds. We will have a perfect view of them! YEAH! I think our landlords are going to join us too, along with the dog!
Last year the fireworks were held at one of the high schools nearby and the parking was just ridiculous. So we are really glad we don’t have to drive. It took us over an hour to get out of the parking lot…we ended up going out the back way on a sidewalk along with a bunch of other people. We thought we were going to get a ticket though, when the cops started driving by…. but they didn’t care… =) Norm is working an extra 4 hours tonight, making double time and a half!!! He gets paid for the stat holiday and then gets paid over time for working on a holiday… cool! So he gladly signed up to work a few extra hours. He is working the equivalent to 30 hours in only 12! What a hard working man!!!
