Fishing and Parry Sound

It’s been a long 33 hours that are finally OVER! Yesterday I got up around 2pm and got ready for what would ultimately be one really long day. Deb and I worked on Mildred’s lawn, getting it all ready for her return on Saturday. After mowing the lawn and having supper I got ready to make some seats! Yea!….. Ok so it’s not that exciting. Simon, Randy and I (a couple guys from work) had been planning on going fishing after work when the conservation area opens at 6:00 am. Unfortunately because of mechanical problems in Brampton we finished really early at just after 4am. Randy, Simon and I had some time to kill so we hung out at Tim Hortons during the wee hours of the morning and at 5:30 got in line to get into the conservation area. We were second in and in no time we were out on the clear as glass lake. See that fish above? It’s a sunfish and I caught so many of those I lost count. That might sound cool, but apparently it’s nothing to brag about, or so I was told my Simon (I think he was just jealous). I also caught a few perch, although neither Simon nor I beat Randy who caught a nice sized Pike. I had a great time hanging out with them, we always have an interesting time. Simon is a staunch atheist, Randy is an Anglican, we always get into fun but really cool discussions. We packed up and headed home around 11 am and after giving my wife a big hug and kiss I was on my way to Parry Sound to pick up Mildred from camp! It was about a 3 hour drive up there, which would have been shorter except for the horrendous holiday traffic. Seeing as I don’t have the Monday off like everyone else, I completely forgot about it! It was a beautiful drive up there and though I tried to take some good pictures while I was driving, I was largely unsuccessful. I got to Mildred at Smokey Trails around 3:30 and once again I hit the road, for the last time of the day. I had a great time chatting with Mildred on the way home, I got to hear about her land speed record in the prairies. We were home by 6:30 and I was definitely ready to relax!!! There in a nutshell is my 33 hour day!

On this day..
