Sunday went fast! Most of it was spent at the Nelson BBQ, which was lots of fun, and LOTS of food. Debra stayed home and rested up, her morning sickness has been really bad, something to pray about if you think of it. Dad and I went together and showed up fashionably late of course. The first thing I saw was Travis on the lawn tractor, he’s one talented kid! As soon as he would see the camera in my had, he’d beeline in the other direction, so I had to get sneaky. I hid around the corner as someone else called him over, the result was a prize picture of Travis! Dad hung out with Travis’ grandpa, and he was definitely in his element: hanging out with two old guys who like to tell stories and play horseshoes. All of mom’s coworkers and their families were there, a fun time to hang out with the Nelson family. Ken’s friend Diana was there too, posing well for pictures. Maybe Ken could take a few lessons. This picture was the best I could get of him. Afterwards
I took dad to get a
smoothie, dad isn’t really into that kind of thing, but I figured I’d give him a culture lesson. He picked out the ‘Berry Burst’ smoothie and we went back to the car to drink them on the way home. As soon as I started to accelerate he spilt it down his leg and into his sock. I stopped and he went to set the drink outside of the car but then the lid fell off and he spilled about half of it outside. So he ended up very sticky and only a few gulps of smoothie. Maybe he should just stick to traditional drinks.
