Canoeing!

Yesterday a group of us from school went on an afternoon canoe trip on the Saugeen river. We put our six canoes in the water and we were on our way! I got wet even before left…. the canoe was half in the water and half on land, I went in to rearrange our bags and the next thing I knew I was knee deep in water. We didn’t get into the water until 2 pm and it ended up being a 3 and a half hour canoe trip. It was a fun trip and involved quite a few wet moments, at least for me and a few others. One canoe tipped over with 3 people in it, and we very nearly did. A few water fights didn’t help either. We found some amazing apples on a tree next to the river, normally wild apples around here are small and very tart, but not these ones! We stopped a couple times to rest and have some fun during which we found the spine of a big cat fish and also found quite a few cray fish. It was a fun experience and definitely a relationship builder, one of the many important aspects of our training here at NTMC! Continue to pray for Debra and her health, today she feels really wiped out! Click on either of the pictures to see more canoeing pics.

On this day..
