Montanas & the Biggest Pumpkin EVER

Yesterday we all headed to Owen Sound for supper, before hand we stopped at a Pet Store and picked up a new tank or our gerbils. Oh, and by the way they had 6 more babies yesterday. That makes a grand total of 30!!! BUT, thank goodness the pet store we went to wants them all! Phew! It was dad’s birthday this week, and when we got into Montanas for dinner we made sure we told our waiter. At montanas they put this humongous hat on you that has two large horns on it. Then of course they make you stand up while they sing to you, making sure that everyone in the restaurant has had a good look at you. My favourite part is that they take a polaroid picture of you to save the memory. Here’s a picture of the polaroid…. great photographers at Montanas.
After dinner we went out to the parking lot and there, sitting in an ol
d pick up truck was the BIGGEST pumpkin ever! It had written on it the number 1011. I assume that that is how many pounds it is, here’s a blurb about the heaviest pumpkin world record from Guinness:

Heaviest pumpkin The world’s largest pumpkin weighed 606.7 kg (1,337 lb 9 oz) on October 5, 2002 during the pumpkin weigh-off at Topsfield Fair, Massachusetts, USA. The pumpkin was grown by Charles Houghton (USA) of New Boston, New Hampshire, USA.

Just behind it was a huge watermelon, the watermelon looked tiny compared to the pumpkin, but still really big. Today we are going to church in Hanover and afterwards mom & dad are heading off to Michigan. We will miss them a lot and look forward to seeing them at Christmas.
