Hydronephrosis

Today we had our Dr. appointment to follow up on the ultrasound on Deb’s kidney. It was confirmed that she does indeed have hydronephrosis. What is hydronephrosis? Simply put, Canaan is squishing the tube coming out of her kidney, causing everything to be backed up. This causes an incredible amount of pain plus endangering her kidney. For now, they are doing weekly ultrasounds as well as weekly blood and urine tests to monitor the situation. If it gets worse and her kidney is in trouble, they will put in a stint which will come out of her back. We were hoping that today we’d find some solution for the pain, but that isn’t what God has for her. Pretty much the only thing that can be done is lying on her left side (which in itself gets stiff and painful). Pray for us as we figure out the best way to deal with this and how it will fit in with our daily life here at NTMC. It’s hard because there isn’t much I can do for her, and I know it’s painful when Debra cries, because she’s one tough cookie! It’s not fun to see her in pain, but I’m definitely so proud of her, she’s one great mom and an especially great wife. We are thankful for your prayers as we continue to study here so that those who have never had the chance can hear about all that Christ did for them onthe cross.

On this day..
