Finishing

How fast did this last semester go? Really fast!! We’re now halfway done New Tribes Missions Institute, and we’re excited to see what God has for us in the coming months, but for right now, we’re ready to start our Christmas break. Though we absolutely love our time here we are looking forward to flying off to California and spending some time with family. On Tuesday this past week we had a Christmas banquet for all of the training staff and students, it was a lot of fun and involved a giant gift exchange game -58 people in all! Yesterday morning we got together with all of the teachers and took time to express what we’ve learned this semester and what it has meant to us. Debra and I were able to express our thanks to everyone for the support we’ve had over the last few months. Debra’s hydronephrosis would make going to school impossible anywhere else, but the teachers and other students have been amazingly supportive. I’m not sure how many times we found meals in our freezer, meals brought to us, or an invitation to dinner. At our first midwives appointment they asked us if we had a good support base at home…. YES! After lunch we a little bit of work detail, just to clean up before we all take off. Kane and I cleaned up Dobu then I left for Hanover to do some Christmas shopping. Debra and I filled stockings for each other so I had to go and get some stocking stuffers. We gave them to each other last night and had our own little Christmas before we get together with our families.
Tomorrow we are spending time with my family in Shelburne, then on monday we’re off to Buffalo where we’ll stay for a night then fly to California!!!
