Christmas Break

It’s been the longest break ever between posts! That’s probably because we’re spending every waking moment with our family! (that’s a good thing) Never in our lives have we ever been so spoiled! Debra’s family have been so amazing! The first few days we spent at Gregg and Kathleen’s house. We had a lot of fun sibling time before heading to Debra’s parents for Christmas. On Christmas eve we went to Camarillo Evangelical Free Church for their Christmas service. We were reminded of how miraculous and special the birth of Christ was. On the more material side of things, Debra’s parents bought a video camera for us so that we can film the ‘Odyssey of Canaan’. We were also showered with many other gifts. Debra’s family have been such a blessing to us, not just in the material but also as a major source of encouragement. The day after Christmas Deb’s family went a couple hours up north to visit all of the uncles. We were originally planning to go but decided to stay home so that Debra would be rested up for her Baby Shower! Yes… the baby shower. I was actually there! At least for part of it. I was called in to help open presents. It is amazing to see Debra’s family and friends be behind us even though they barely know me! We have plenty of clothes and other things for baby Canaan. We were also given lots of gift cards to get the things that we still will need. It’s awesome to see God provide in abundance through so many different people. God is great!

God is just giving you a preview of how He will continue to provide for your every need. The extra seat on the airline, the baby shower, etc? Just tidbits from the hand of He who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. I’m glad you feel blessed, guys, but I can hardly wait to hear “the REST of the story”. It is just so good to SEE you and HUG you…the blessing is all ours.
    With love,
    Cara (Mrs. S.)
