Well, if you read the previous post you know that we are hoping to naturally kick start labor at around 37 weeks. I had a really awful night last night, I got maybe an hour of sleep. Its pretty draining physically and emotionally to go to sleep every night knowing it will only be a battle. So today we called the midwives to see if we could come in earlier than our next appointment, which is on Feb 27th, to discuss the whole thing of getting labor started early. We talked to our main midwife, Mel. She said that we don’t need to come in early, but to start taking Evening Primrose Oil three times a day when I get to 36 weeks (Feb 22nd). This should prepare my body for labor. As far as we could tell, this doesn’t usually start labor on its own, but just gets you ready for it. Then when we go to our appointment (Feb 27) we will discuss how to actually get it rolling. I am not sure which method they use for that, but we will see. So it looks like we will probably be having an early March baby! This is so exciting. Not that I really wanted to end the pregnancy early, its just gotten so severe I might go absolutely insane.
If you are wondering why I am going insane its because of the Hydronephrosis. The baby is blocking my kidney and each day as he gets bigger the pain is more severe and constant. I have had this for most of the pregnancy but before it only hurt in the afternoons and evenings and had positions to make the pain go away. But now that I am this far along there is no time that it isn’t severely painful and there is no position to make the pain go away. I know some of you might be asking, why don’t you just take pain killers… well they don’t even touch the pain… there is no point in taking them… its the blockage causing the pain, and pain killers wont cure the blockage… =)
Oh well enough babbling…

I don’t mind being an aunt earlier!!!! I do mind the fact that I may now have to wait even longer to see Canaan after he is born, Since I can’t come any earlier:-)
WOW! It sounds like there’s a lot going on lately! Good luck on the labor inducing techniques. I was induced a couple of times……It’s not the MOST fun but it sounds like you’re in a load of pain daily. Jake is a March 1st baby. Lovely time to have a newborn with spring right around the corner. I will say a prayer for you all!
