Last night I just couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning - which is weird, because usually Debra is up all night and I sleep pretty good. But last night she was dead to the world! I rolled around for a while then got up around 1:30am and decided to pass the time by creating a Yahoo widget. I wasn’t coherent enough to do anything profitable like required reading for class, but hey, this was fun. What on earth is a widget?? Yahoo Widgets are little programs on your desktop that do anything you want them to do! Check out this explanation or visit the Yahoo Widget homepage. The widget I made displays headlines from our blog, the perfect way to keep up to date with news about Canaan! If you want to try it out, download the Yahoo Widget Engine here, then download our widget here. Let me know if you have any questions!

On this day..

Hi Norm and Debra! Your widget caught my eye on widget gallery! So cool to hear about people who have a heart for missions halfway around the world from where I am (Singapore). If you ever drop by Singapore, be sure to drop me an email at benedict dot chen at gmail dot com. -Benedict-
Hey you two, just checking in….I hope Deb is having that baby as I type!
That’s my very wish! =)
How do you do that? We are in language training in France, and I’d love to make a widget to follow our blog headlines www.daveys2france.blogspot.com.
My email address is my first and last names no dots no dashes at gmail dot com.
p.s. thinking of you as the day approaches!
Very cool! I downloaded it and … I can have your lovely logo on my screen but no headlines. *sigh* I guess I still have to visit your site to see if there are any… “Announcements”!
hi jim! thanks for the comment the widget updates every five minutes, and if you’re not connected it will just show the logo. once you connect, it will update five minutes later
I reinstalled the widget, and LO, it worketh fine. Cool!
Are we going to have 100 missionaries with widgets now? :-) Cool. Next time I can’t sleep I’ll have to try it too. :)
