This morning at 2:30 Debra woke me up and told me that she was having painful contractions. I bolted out of bed, ready to do… well, there was really nothing we could do except wait and see. We didn’t want to get our hopes up, and we were glad that we didn’t. She soaked in the tub and about 3 or 4 hours after it began, it quit. Though it was a bit disappointing we were excited that at least something was happening! She wasn’t able to get back to sleep till 6 this morning, so needless to say she’s pretty wiped out today. We are thankful for the confidence that this false labour didn’t surprise God! It is part of His plan for us and for Canaan.

On this day..
- one of Norm's great pics! - 2005
she will go into real labour within 24hrs.
I have heard of a lot of people who have false labor for weeks…. I am not getting my hopes up! But within 24 hours would be nice! Maybe a St. Patty’s baby!

Yep, my bet is there’s a baby by this weekend! :)
Wow! It’s great to know that things are happening! Rest up and be ready!
I say 4 more days tops. It’s gotta be close now. :)
I am going to guess you have Canaan on the 20th.
I agree with Lisa! 4 days tops!!! I cant wait to come and see you guys! love! ~Kathleen
I’m GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE!!!!!!
I will have my cell phone with me at all times, make sure someone calls me, please!!!!!!
A St. Paddy’s baby would be WONDERFUL! But, you know what? A healthy baby boy born in two weeks would be wonderful too! It seems like forever now, but however long God knows Canaan needs to “cook” is the very best time of all! False labor pains are WONDERFUL - many times they help with further effacement and dilation. So, relax and welcome them, and soon enough they will be the “real” thing. (Remember: the only difference between “false” and “real” labor, is the end result!)
With love, and hugs, and yippees!
I agree with Cara! When people used to ask me how long my labor with my first pregnancy was I used to say, “A MONTH!” because all those contractions helped the final labor part.
Thanks guys for checking in! We are so excited for the day we get to tell the full complete story! =) Thanks for all of your encouragement!
Debra
