First Day to the Big City

Yesterday afternoon we took Canaan on his first trip to the city! We went to a mall in Brampton to do some clothes shopping for Debra. We weren’t sure how Canaan would do on his first big day out, but we had to try some time! We left after lunch and made our way to Brampton, it is a two hour drive but he did amazingly well. We had to stop mid way to nurse, which proved to be a bit awkward, I tried to find a remote parking spot, but it ended up being the main thoroughfare for everybody walking to McDonalds. He was a hit in the mall, I don’t know how many woman wanted a peak, and for some reason they all felt it necessary to unwrap him and give him a full examination. On the way home we stopped in Orangeville to visit our old landlady Joy Trimble. We told Canaan that we were taking him home to his first home, Debra was a week or two pregnant when we moved out. Joy was excited to meet Canaan, she even sent us home with a beautiful Afghan. Seeing the farm again reminded us of how much has changed in the last 10 months, it’s crazy! It’s nice to see how well Canaan travels, which must be a prerequisite for MKs (missionary kid). Canaan also made his first visit to Starbucks! He didn’t place an order, but his parents sure did! Starbucks are a rare treat for us when we are out traveling. We (and him) are slowly adapting and adjusting to our new life. It’s challenging at times, but nothing out weighs the joy of watching our little boy!

On this day..

Love the race car sleeper. Derrick bought the same on for Rachel about 2 months ago, he is always buying her boys clothing. His eye are so beautiful. Look out Norm and Deb, Canaan is going to be a heartbreaker for sure!
