Easter Dinner with the Fam

Happy Easter everybody! Yesterday we made it my parents to celebrate Easter. It was great to hang out with family and be reminded of the real point of Easter - Christ! More precisely the fact that death couldn’t keep Him, He rose from the dead after dying for my (and for everyone’s) sins. Because of this I can now have a relationship with God and will be with Him forever, nothing can ever change that. Of course we also had lots of chocolate and a great turkey dinner. The family enjoyed hanging out with Canaan, we barely got our hands on him all day! Ken showed us his potato gun, which he made out of pvc pipe and hairspray. He used to use a BBQ starter to ignite it, but the starter died. We tried to use some firecrackers to light it yesterday, and it worked a bit, but not as well as it used to. Ken is working a new potato gun made of steel that will use an ignition system from a car to light it and he’s going to use diesel as fuel instead of hairspray. Sounds fun!! Jannah hung out for the day with us too, her family was gone to pick up her sister from college. It was a nice relaxing day knowing that we had one more day of holidays to recover before classes start again. Canaan has been doing pretty well at night except for the past few days. He seems to be really gassy and uncomfortable. He doesn’t really cry all night but strains and whimpers, it’s really sad! A few nights ago though he stayed asleep for six hours! We felt great the next day :o) We have some gas medicine for babies and it seems to help a bit. Hopefully this will pass soon so that he can be more comfortable. Yesterday Canaan turned one month old! It has gone by SO fast, it’s been great to see him grow and develop even in this short time. So much fun!

I had fun yesterday too! I love that picture of Sheila with the 2 “babies”…poor Kitty, but Canaan definitely seems to take priority with grandma now!

    Hey Norm and Deb,
Rachel used to get really gasy around bedtime when she was about 6 weeks old. It was caused by a couple of things. #1- she would drink to fast and gasp air. #2. She would cry about something silly and suck in air, creating more gas, and #3. She was oing through a growth spurt. We tried Gripe Water and also baby massage as well as pretending her legs were riding a bicycle. (She would lay on her back and I would move her legs in circlar motions) it would help to get the gas moving and out the poop shoot!:)

:( I am sorry about the gassiness! Caleb has struggled with it for the last few months and he does the same thing. We hear him laying there grunting, and making sad little noises.

Your Easter sounds lovely BTW. :)
