Moving!

But haven’t we moved twice already since starting school? Yup! When we first started school here at NTMC, we moved into a very small apartment next to the lake. It was cozy, but maybe a little too cozy when we thought ahead to life with Canaan. We were given the opportunity to move to a bigger apartment, switching with Cliff & Avie. We have been in that apartment since November and have loved it. During the last few years the school has been expanding and building new student and staff housing. A new fourplex was completed yesterday and we were selected to move in! And guess what?? It has running water! It’s really weird. We stayed there last night and were amazed that we could see the bathroom from our bedroom! We’re used to getting on the jacket and boots and hiking down to the community bathroom. When I use the sink I keep looking under to check how full the slop bucket is. We started moving last evening, all we got done was our bedroom stuff and what Canaan needs, we’ll finish this weekend sometime. We want to thank everyone that worked on our house, pretty much all the work was done by students and staff here at NTMC. We can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work!! We will post some pictures up later of the new place, maybe even a video tour.

What great news! That’ll be such a treat to have running water. I don’t know how you do without.

Wow! I remember when we moved back to California after living in WVA w/ no hot water. For weeks, I would grab a pot, run the faucet, and put the water on the stove to heat it…before I caught myself. You might be checking for that slop bucket a while!
