This past Sunday was Debra’s first mother’s day! We went to Shelburne for church then headed over to mom and dads for lunch. After lunch headed off to Brampton…. on our own! We left Canaan with his grandparents and spent the day together. We went shopping in a big mall that we used to go to when we lived close to Brampton, and then celebrated mother’s day by going to one of Deb’s favourite restaurants. Deb had a fun moment while she was there - the restaurant was giving out carnations and ballot forms to all of the mothers. Our waitress walked over and said,
“I know you’re not a mother, but we had some extras”
Debra really enjoyed the opportunity to tell the waitress that she is indeed a very proud mother of the cutest little boy.
On Saturday we hope to do some car shopping with Ken, we need to get some new wheels! We are looking at a few options, most of which are standard transmission. I’ve been learning to drive standard since we’ve been here at school. Most of the shop vehicles are standard and I get lots of practice during work detail. Debra though has never driven one before so we thought that we’d get some practice in. So how did she do? Great! She had never driven one before and her first take off was really good! She seems to be a natural.
Canaan is doing well, he gets more and more personality every day! His aunt Critter is coming tomorrow, she’s VERY excited to see her nephew.

Sounds like a perfect mother’s day!
