The Countdown Is On

Our trip to Buffalo on Sunday went pretty well, but we didn’t end up getting our car on Saturday because we couldn’t get paperwork done so we had to borrow a car. Special thanks to Todd for letting us take his car all the way to Buffalo! We had no trouble going down, but on the way back in to Canada the customs agent hassled us about having an American vehicle. We had all of Todd’s registration and insurance for the car and also a note that he wrote giving us permission to use his car, but she was still displeased with the whole situation. She actually almost made us pay import fees on Todd’s car! Thankfully she just let us off with a warning. We finally have our new car in our possession! Today was my fourth trip in five days to or through the Kitchener area (a two hour drive each way). We first checked the car on Thursday, checked it again on Saturday and paid for it, drove by Kitchener on the way to Buffalo and finally went back today to pick up the car. We have a new car, but I’m tired of driving! Next Monday we start building our Jungle Camp home, the countdown is on! Tonight Jim and I worked on our laundry tub, almost getting it done. I’m not sure how I got this dirty since Jim did all of the welding. I still need to put together more of my plumbing and electrical but we’re getting there! Debra finished sewing all of our curtains and cushion covers and canning our meat. We are looking forward to the opportunity to start building, but the task is also daunting! We have heard that in past years most people end up working 12-14 hours per day on their home in order to get it done before move up day. But don’t worry, we promise to keep you updated! :o)

On this day..
