Jungle Camp Questions
We’ve had a lot of questions about Jungle Camp: how it works, what it is and what it will be like. We start building on Monday but we thought that we’d answer any questions that people have. If you have any sort of question about Jungle Camp, post it as a comment and we will do our best to answer it!

How much more money do you need to raise to purchase all of the suplies that you need to be comfortable to live in the jungle?
OH GOODNESS THATS A HARD ONE! =) Let us get back to you on that one. We have purchased most of our supplies. Tomorrow (Saturday) we are going to get the rest of the tool we need and then in the next 2 weeks we are going to get the rest of the groceries. We will let you know soon! Thanks for asking.
Debra
What activities will you be participating in while at jungle camp? Will you have classes still?
Katie
We will have a lot of things on the go! =) We will have a couple classes here and there, but no regular classes. We will have a hair cutting class, mens hike (3 day) ladies hike (2 day), some special independent studies, we have to find and chop all our fire wood, laundry by hand, cooking with a wood stove, lots of potlucks. All sorts of things. But mostly just living takes up most of our time… we have to bake bread from scratch and all sorts of things like that. We will have a little extra time on our hands to hang out with our classmates, play games, write letters to people! If you want mail… leave your address or email it to us! Hope that answers your question!
In response to Gregg & Kathleens question…
We totalled up everything that we have or will have to buy which includes tools and building supplies and we came up with a total of $550 Canadian
To clarify my question.. i know that you had a lot of support come in last month to help with the Car. How much do you still need to purchas all the rest of the supplies for Camp? Love! – Kathleen
Does Canaan come on the hikes?
I did the math and 550 Us dollars comes out to $500 US dollars
Lisa ~ Canaan won’t be going on either of the hikes. The mens and womans hikes are seperate. While I’m gone Debra will look after Canaan. Because she is still nursing Debra will likely only go on the first day of the womans hike during which I will look after Canaan.
Hi Kathleen,
Thanks for the clarification. We still need aprox. $350 canadian for the reamining tools and supplies. Plumbing is expensive! :o)This doesn’t include groceries for Jungle Camp which we include in our regular support.
do you have a good mattress to sleep on?
For a mattress we will be putting together foam that is available here. We will also put our memory foam mattress topper on it to help Debra’s back.
