Day three is over! We are startled and amazed at how fast our week has gone. I have never had such long work days go so fast. Today we finished off the plastic on the roof, we needed to staple the roof plastic around the edges and trim it. Debra worked on the cradle for our stove which is made out of a 55 gallon drum. The stove sits in the cradle surrounded by clay, the clay helps to keep the heat in the oven. We’ll post pictures of that later. Debra has been such an amazing worker, she is up there all day with me and only leave to feed Canaan - she amazes me! She is very good at notching wood, a key part of building a jungle camp house. I worked mostly on our shower: I put in poles and dug a pit which I filled with rocks. We better go and get some shut eye, we need to recuperate for tomorrow. Oh, a neat thing happened last night - Canaan slept for 10 hours straight! We actually had to wake him up to eat, that allowed us to get an excellent night of rest. God is good!

Awesome report! Thank you God. And praise God for Gramma Sheila babysitting too!
Grandma Tami
Were the poles and plastic etc. supplied to you? Did you have to build your house a certain way or could you design it however you wanted?
Hey! Well most of the poles are left over from last years Jungle Camp and a few new ones from around here and a place down the road. The roof plastic was used green house plastic = free! And about half of the house plastic was donated from Home Hardware! Also donated from Home Hardware is 8 rolls of duct tape to each house! The rest of the supplies we had to get! =)
that’s my sister! Us Rutledge girls had to make up for the fact that daddy didn’t have any sons. And 3 cheers for Canaan!!! I love my nephew!
there are a few things that we were required to design into our house (shower, stove, etc.) but other than that it was totally up to us to design our house
