Birthday and Dedication! at The Copeland Ramblings

Hey all! It’s Debra! =) Well, so far we have had an amazing time here in California. It has been terribly hot… Oh well!
My birthday was so fun! Norm took me out to breakfast, just the two of us. It was so great. I love breakfast… Then we went out shopping for a ring. I have always wanted a right hand ring. I have looked and looked and just never committed to one. So finally I got one. It is beautiful. After shopping, we came home and relaxed for a bit. Christy, Lily (Christy’s room mate) and I made a Spaghetti dinner. We were going to go well, but my mom was real sick, so we decided to postpone my birthday dinner. Dinner was so fun, all of us sitting down together. =) Then later that night we went to see Lady in the Water at the movies. What a wonderfully fun day.

When we left the theater all of us piled in my sister’s car and took off, but my dad was driving his car… so obviously he drove his. But half way home Gregg called us and said he moved my dad’s truck… see if he could find it… Haha! But then my dad called us freaking out!! “Guys my truck is stolen! It is gone! Someone took it!” Kathleen tried explaining that Gregg moved it… but he kept insisting that it was gone. We were all freaking out. Then the cell phones lost connection. Kathleen called him back and my dad said… hehe, jokes on you! I saw it right when we came out of the theater! It was so funny.

Ok well on to more serious things…
Today at church we dedicated Canaan Joshua to the Lord. It was so neat and challenging to stand up in front of my church and to commit to be godly parents and to raise our child in the Lord. Canaan did great… he slept through the whole thing.

Pastor Jim also reminded us how Canaan is our son, but not our possession. He is God’s! We have a stewardship in raising him. God has given him to us to raise, but he is God’s! What a wonderful time that was!
