Catching our breath
Yesterday was our first day of our CLA Practicum. To say the least it was an extremely busy day due to the previous weekend. Normally we’ll have a two hour session during the day and then 6 hours of processing, practice and preparing for the next day. Because of our late return Sunday night we had an afternoon session yesterday but today we have an 8am session. That made for a full evening last night, cramming in all of our review, processing and preparing. Our language helper, Lydia is very friendly and encouraging. She doesn’t even seem to get bored saying the same Russian words over and over again! :o) By the end of our session our brains were full but it was cool to see that our minds were already getting used to the foreign sounds. Here we go – day two!
On this day..
- Happy Birthday Gregg!!!! - 2007
- Watch out for the...hole - 2005
- Adopt a Baby Gerbil! - 2004

Is this a paid postion or does she just want to help out?
When language helpers are asked to help they have the offer of being paid. Some do, some don’t, it’s totally up to them. We have no problem paying them as they take time out of their day to help us and in turn we can help them out in a small way.
