Strikes in Guinea

Our friends the Dentlers work in Guinea, West Africa and have been writing about strikes that have been occuring over the last couple of weeks. The unions that are striking are siding with the political opposition in order to remove the president from power.

The protesting in the streets have been all emcompassing in Conakry. Yesterday there were reports of at least 17 people who were killed in yesterday’s protests. The protesting has spread to the interior of the country, however it is not as aggressive as it is in Conakry. Most of our personnel in Guinea have been relocated to the mission base.

Please pray for the people of Guinea as well as the missionaries who are working there. Read more at the Dentler’s Blog or this new article
