Guinea Names New Prime Minister

As of this past Sunday night Conte, the president of Guinea, agreed to appoint a new prime minister from the list given to him by the striking unions. The unions have temporarily called of the strike and will wait and see what develops. The trade unions wanted a new independent Prime Minister to carry out reforms. We are very thankful that the president and the unions have come to some sort of consensus after a month of striking that has resulted in martial law and over 110 deaths. Continue to pray for Guinea that there will be new found peace and chance for the Guineans to recover from the chaos of the last four weeks. The new Prime Minister is ex-diploma Lansana Kouyate, please pray for him that he will have wisdom to properly lead the country.

Hey Kathleen, the missionaries that are there are doing well. Most are in the base but some have started to return to their tribal ministries. The personnel in Conakry was evacuated to Senegal but should also be returning shortly.
