We haven’t been able to connect to the internet while visiting here in Quebec, but we are currently in a bistro for lunch that has free wireless internet so we wanted to update you on how things are. We received a call early this morning from Kathleen Bowcock, Debra’s sister who informed us that her husband Gregg had been hit by a car while driving a motorcycle. Gregg is a California Highway Patrol Officer and was on duty. Gregg was on his way to an accident and actually had his lights and sirens on when a women attempted a U-turn in front of him. Gregg swerved in an attempt to miss the car but ran into the tail end of the car. He was thrown 50 feet from the bike. Gregg has 3 breaks in his right leg and a broken left ankle, his face was also scratched up and required stitches. Last night Gregg underwent surgery and pins were put into his leg and ankle. We are so thankful that Gregg suffered only those injuries. Accidents on motorcycles are usually much worse. Please pray for Gregg and also for Kathleen and the rest of the family down there. Gregg has been such an awesome, amazing brother in law to us, it is very hard to be so far away when these types of things happen. Thanks for your prayers!
The Ventura County Star wrote about it, here you can read the article here:
CHP motorcycle officer injured on way to accident
We are planning on leaving tonight after Canaan goes to bed to return home. It will be at least 11-12 hours on the road but we decided it would be easier to do with Canaan sleeping. We have plenty of great pictures of our trip and look forward to sharing them on our site! We’ll be home soon!
On this day..
