One More Week

Family Pictures We have a little update about our trip to Guinea in June. We originally planned the trip in order to acquaint ourselves with Guinea and our coworkers, and while that is still the case we received an email from a missionary in Guinea asking us if we’d be interested in helping set up a new guesthouse in Conakry, Guinea while we are in the country. We are excited for the possibility to help out where we may end up working! We are thankful for the chance to serve.

There’s only one week left of our practicum! Our practicum has been going on for the last two months and is an intense simulation that allows us to practice a majority of the skills that we’ve been learning over the last few years. We get to experience culture shock, learning another culture and language, writing Bible lessons that are designed for a certain cultural audience and so much more! Though it is has at times been a very difficult part of our course, we have learned so much and are grateful for the lessons that God has taught us along the way.

Today we were able to get some school work done but also get out in the beautiful sunshine and have some fun. Canaan is slowly getting used to grass. He’s still not quite sure if he likes the feel of it, but we did learn that he absolutely loves rocks! He tries to dig nearly every rock he can find out of the ground. We got a good laugh out of it. Now we just have to teach him to not try and eat all of those rocks!

Sunny Days

After our practicum wraps up this week I will be speaking at our home church in Shelburne, I am looking forward to sharing the things I have been studying and also our upcoming travels and plans. A few more weeks of finish up classes and then we’re done! Our planning continues for our trip to Guinea, please continue to keep us in your prayers as we finish up our classes and also plan for this trip. It has been stressful but an experience with God that I don’t regret! Thanks for your support and encouragement! If you have any questions about our training or trip please feel free to contact us.

On this day..
