Deb’s Second Mother’s Day
There’s a holiday for everyone and everything these days. Seems a little silly at times, but one of the originals that I think are important is mother’s day! Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s day at my parents, we had a BBQ, some extra chocolaty cake (Deb and mom’s favourite) and ice cream. It was a fun, relaxing day together.
I appreciate and love my own mom, but I don’t think I understood the scope and intensity of motherhood (and still don’t completely of course) until I saw it in action with my own child. I am continually in awe at the love and care that Debra has for Canaan, she’s amazing! Debra was a natural mom from day one, she continually puts all that she has into being the mom that Canaan needs. There are time’s when I am just frustrated with him – but there’s Debra, calm and as patient as ever.
Debra, although yesterday was a special day set aside to honour mothers, I want you to know that you are appreciated every day! You’re an amazingly caring and loving mother, Canaan is a blessed little boy.
I love you!

What a sweet and loving post! Debra, I know you are aware of this already…you have a great man there! I think Canaan is blessed to have you BOTH! He’s gonna need his daddy more than ever in about 9 years. I see how much my boys look up to their dad. It sounds like you guys had a calm and peaceful Mother’s Day…..very nice.
