The Hunt for Malaria Pills
Today was our last big cleaning and packing day for our school apartment. We were able to get quite a lot of work accomplished though I think that Canaan felt a little ignored. We had to take a break from the cleaning during the afternoon and head to the Doctors to get a prescription for Malaria medication. Debra and I are on Doxycycline that you take every day and because of his age Canaan is on a different kind that he only has to take once a week.
All Malaria prevention drugs have potential side affects but none worse than Malaria itself. Once you have Malaria it’s with you for life and can flare up on occasion.  It was a bit of a chore finding a pharmacy that could fill our prescription. We ended up at the Zellers pharmacy that said they could fill Canaan’s by tomorrow. It turns out that the lady working at the pharmacy lives up the road from us! She’s going to take it home with her after work tomorrow and we’ll pick it up at her house. Gotta love small town living! It would have been difficult for us to get back to the pharmacy tomorrow because we’ll be down in Kitchener getting supplies with our trip and visiting with our friend Melanie.
Well, we’ll be out of Durham sometime on Thursday, it’s been an emotional couple of days saying good by to all of our friends but we are very excited to see what God has in store for us as we head off to Guinea on Sunday!
