Last night at 10:30pm we finally arrived here in NYC. It was a long day, we left home around 8:30am and got to the border at about 10:30am. We waited there for well over an hour before we were on our way. Somewhere in New York we stopped to get fuel and suddenly someone was knocking on our car window - it was our friend Adam! Adam is a long distance truck driver and had spotted us on the interstate. He saw us at the service plaza and pulled in to say hi. It was a nice surprise, it’s funny how we had been upset with he border but were now happy about it because it meant that we were able to see Adam. It reminded me that I never know what God is going to do with situations in my life.
We carried on leaving Adam in our dust and headed on to NYC. About 60 miles out we hit a big rain storm, it didn’t last too long but it was pretty heavy. All I have to say about our drive in NYC was that I sure got a crash course! It took an hour to go 4kms over the G. Washington Bridge and people were cut throat! We stayed last night in the house of Darrow and Kathy Parker, friends of James Leckrone. James was in our class in Durham. The Parkers don’t know us but have been amazing and hospitable hosts. We are thankful to have a place to rest before carrying on to Brussels this evening. We’ll update again later when we can find internet.

So you can’t handle big city traffic, huh? I have remedied that by riding my bike everywhere! ;) Have a blessed trip to Guinea!!
It is a small world! It is great that you got to have a (short) visit with Adam before your trip.
I am so happy that you are off doing what God has called you to do… sniff … sob… sniff…. no really I am.
I am proud of both of you and wouldn’t have it any other way,… well except maybe …. you know… Canaan could have come out to visit!!
Can’t wait to hear more, I miss you so much.

I know I speak for Sheila too.
Hey Shelia why don’t you pack up your good husband and come out for a visit! Two Grandma’s under one roof, How awesome would that be!!!
WOW Canaan sure has grown… oh wait.. that’s ADAM. hehe
Love you guys and I am praying for safe traveling!!
Norm and Debra, If you are reading this before you call me back,
I am sorry you missed your flight (due to weather) and are stuck in Belgium for a day.
I got ahold of Dalton in Conakry. He needs flight info as the airline you were booked on only flies in twice a week. You must be using another airline.
I will keep checking the blog in case you respond via this.
Love you so much.
