First Stop: NYC

Leaving Adam in our Dust Last night at 10:30pm we finally arrived here in NYC.  It was a long day, we left home around 8:30am and got to the border at about 10:30am.  We waited there for well over an hour before we were on our way. Somewhere in New York we stopped to get fuel and suddenly someone was knocking on our car window – it was our friend Adam!  Adam is a long distance truck driver and had spotted us on the interstate.  He saw us at the service plaza and pulled in to say hi.  It was a nice surprise, it’s funny how we had been upset with he border but were now happy about it because it meant that we were able to see Adam.  It reminded me that I never know what God is going to do with situations in my life.

Norm, Debra and Adam

We carried on leaving Adam in our dust and headed on to NYC. About 60 miles out we hit a big rain storm, it didn’t last too long but it was pretty heavy.  All I have to say about our drive in NYC was that I sure got a crash course!  It took an hour to go 4kms over the G. Washington Bridge and people were cut throat! We stayed last night in the house of Darrow and Kathy Parker, friends of James Leckrone. James was in our class in Durham.  The Parkers don’t know us but have been amazing and hospitable hosts.  We are thankful to have a place to rest before carrying on to Brussels this evening. We’ll update again later when we can find internet.

On this day..
