Renovations

Arabic Liptons Iced Tea We’ve spent a lot of time this week with Pete & Faith Olver. Pete & Faith are fairly new missionaries to Guinea and are moving to the base here in Hamdallaye to support the missionaries in the tribe. Pete has been working on fixing up an older house for he and his family to move into. One major task is to put a completely new ceiling in, a few other jobs include wiring the house and fixing the water tower. This week I’ve been helping Pete put the new ceiling in, it’s been a great opportunity to get to know Pete and ask him all kinds of questions about Guinea. His perspective is unique because he’s fairly new to the country compared to many of the other missionaries around.

SweatyThey are living in the guesthouse with us while their house is being worked on, giving us the opportunity to share meals, play games and hang out together. We’ll work one more day on the ceiling, then on Saturday we’re going to the local market and on Sunday we are going to start travelling again. We’ll be visiting two more tribal locations before finally arriving in the capital city of Conakry. Thanks again everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement, we look forward to seeing you when we get home!

Good work on the renovations. We spent our first couple of months in Guinea living in that house. Glad it’s getting a face lift before Pete & Faith move in.

It looks like you guys are having such a wonderful time! Love the pictures! Happy late birthday Norm! I would so love to do something like you guys are doing! It’s such important work but also such a slower paced, out of the rat race sort of life. I’m so happy for you! Canaan looks like he’s having a great time too!
