Californian Adventure

Grandma and GrandsonWe have had a great time in California since we arrived are three A.M. this past Thursday. We’ve been able to relax after months of working hard at school and planning our trip to Guinea. The biggest joy is watching Debra’s family spend time with Canaan. I definitely don’t mind sleeping in as Debra’s mom gets up with Canaan. Today was our first Sunday here in California and we were able to reconnect with friends at church, and watch their surprise at how big Canaan has grown since we were last here. I’ve been able to devote a lot of time to working on presentations, newsletters and our website; I’ll have plenty of chances to speak at Debra’s home church this summer. We’ll be sharing about our trip to Guinea and our future plans in Quebec City. I’ve also had time to work with Gregg, Deb’s dad and Grandpa. Currently we’re installing a new sprinkler system at Gregg and Kathleen’s home. Gregg is still recuperating from his motorcycle accident while on duty with the CHP and it’s been a joy to help where ever I can.

Canaan enjoyed the fair balloons

Yesterday we walked around the booths at the Camarillo Street Fair. The atmosphere was festive with plenty of live music and fair food. Canaan enjoyed the sights and sounds and definitely enjoyed the balloons we tied to his stroller.
