Ventura County Fire Dept.

Ventura County Fire Department Today Gregg and I visited our friend Gary Young at a Ventura County fire hall. Gary is a captain and gave us a tour of the station and equipment. I’ve never been to one and it was exciting to get an inside look. Gary even responds to calls at the beach for stranded swimmers and boaters. The equipment was immense and complex and gave me and even greater appreciation for the job they have and sacrifices they make. Thanks Gary for the tour, it’s greatly appreciated!!

One of the greatest aspects of this summer is the chance to get to know people and build relationships.   We have a month left of our time in California, it’s going way too fast!  Next week the family is getting away for 7 days to a beach house, we’re looking forward to some sun, sand and relaxation.  It won’t be long until we’re surrounded by ice and snow in Quebec City!

Hey Norm… You probably don’t remember but Gramma took you to a Fire Station when you were a little guy.. You came home with a real fire fighters helmet and spent a summer wearing it armed with a Super Soaker!

Happy Birthday Deb… We love you lots and hope you have a wonderful birthday.. Miss you all and can’t wait to see you again, yet so very thankful you are with your family in Cali for the summer. Love Mom and Dad xoxo
