I often leave class with my head spinning, there’s just so much new information. But if it weren’t for the language learning aspect, you’d think we were in 2nd grade! We’ve learned how to tell time, how to count, basic verbs and simple math. A french speaker walking by might wonder what a groups of adults learning to count to ten are doing in a University!
My assignment this weekend was to write a small paper about our ‘meilleure amie’ or ‘best friend’. I chose Debra and had a great time pouring over dictionaries and conjugation tables trying to piece together sentences. It took me few hours but finally managed to pump out a few hundred words. Embedded below is my essay along with a loose english translation. If you speak French, don’t crucify me yet! I’ve only been at this for a few weeks and it hasn’t been checked by my teacher yet. Use the zoom in buttons below to get a closer more legible look, scroll down for the english translation.
On this day..

Looking good! Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words when our expressions don’t translate exactly, isn’t it! Seriously, it looks like you’re doing really well. You will be amazed at the difference in a couple months, and especially once you’re done the year!
im sure you did a great job normy….but whatever you wrote still wont do Debra justice….lol.
