The Copeland Ramblings

Today the three of went for a nice walk in a park/trail. We are not really used to living in the city, so when we get the chance to get go to a park or walking trail we are there! We decided it was time for a homework break and wanted to get some fresh air. So when Canaan woke up from his nap we headed out to Parc Les Saules. It is right amongst the city, you can hear the cars driving by, but yet we still felt like we were “out in the country” as we walked along the river.

We walked from the middle of the trail where we parked all the way to one end where they have a small playground. Canaan enjoyed the slides and walking around. But most of all he loved seeing a golden lab puppy. A man and his daughter were out walking their puppy and Canaan promptly headed to the dog calling “Doggy! Doggy!” We “chatted” with the man for a bit through broken French.

On our way back to the car we heard a helicopter. We live by the Quebec airport so Canaan has gotten used to hearing airplanes and helicopters. He gets sooooo excited when he hears one and looks around for it. So when we saw the helicopter we turned around and pointed to it so Canaan would see. He was glued. The helicopter was headed toward us and then we noticed that as it got closer to us it got slower and slower. Then eventually it was just hanging out right there by us. We were in the park so there was nothing around us that it was doing. So we stood there waving at it and watching for a few minutes. Canaan was pretty excited to watch it. Then when we turned around to head on to the car the helicopter took off. It was so great that they took time out of what ever they were doing for Canaan to watch the helicopter hover by us. That sure made our walk that much more special!
