Free Rice

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. ~ Matthew 25:35

While in Guinea we witnessed many of the hardships of those who live there. One major struggle we witnessed was of course hunger. Although our primary goal in going to Guinea is to be a part of reaching people with the Truth of Jesus Christ we can’t ignore the destitution of the people we will be living amongst. A friend of ours sent us an email linking to a site called ‘Free Rice‘. Free Rice is a sort of game where you are given a word with four possible definitions. If you select the correct definition they donate 10 grains of rice through the UN world food program. With every correct selection your word gets increasingly difficult. It’s fun to play and when you are done you can see how many bowls of rice you have donated to those who would have otherwise had nothing. They pay for the rice through the sponsors at the bottom of the page. Debra and I played for a few minutes the other night and between the two of us helped to donate 11 bowls. Spend a few minutes, have some fun and help feed someone!

On this day..

I LOVE this game. I could easily play it for quite sometime. In fact, I have. I’ve tried to get my kids involved but they’re not so interested so I had to stop playing! Otherwise, who knows what havoc they’d wreak! Jon loves to count grains of rice now and point out that “it’s really not THAT much rice” He’s such the know it all.
