Let’s Go Remparts!

After supper yesterday I received a call from Denis, a friend from our church here in Québec City. He told me that he has season tickets to the Québec Remparts and was looking for some one to join him! Sounded like fun to me and it wasn’t long before we were seated amongst nearly 9,000 other cheering fans. I was amazed at how passionate the Remparts fans are, it was almost as much fun watching the crowds as it was watching the actual game. Colisée PepsiThe Remparts regulary draw at least 8,000 fans (often more than 10,000). I’ve been to hockey games at home but this was by far the most exciting. The Remparts were playing the Rimouski Océanic and even though the Remparts lost (5-4), it was a good game and from what I was told they are close rivals. Like nearly everything else we do here in Québec it was another great opportunity to enjoy some Québec culture and gain more exposure to French. Though Denis speaks excellent English we spent most of the evening using French - he is a very patient man! Afterwards he bought me a Remparts cap, I felt very spoiled! Thanks for the great evening Denis!
