More Car Trouble…

This month we’ve really been getting to know our mechanic (not to mention the plumber as well) and it looks like we will be paying the mechanic another visit. After 3 visits to the mechanic already, for a blown cam seal as well as regular maintenance issues, we thought that we were done with car repairs for a while. Until last night that is. Debra was driving home after dropping off the babysitter and noticed that the transmission wasn’t acting normal. Anytime that she sped up the car would immediately rev. Sound familiar? That is one of the symptoms that ultimately led to the demise of our last car. The only difference is that our last car had a few hundred thousand kms on it, unlike our current car which is relatively low in kms. So we’re hoping that the transmission can be saved – if not, I really don’t know what we will do. I take the bus to school but a car is essential for Debra to get to her tutor and for Canaan to go to the daycare. We really only need a car until the middle of next year sometime and we really did think that our Neon would last well beyond that. Tomorrow morning we will call the shop and see how soon we can get it in to be looked at. We are praying that it will just be something like a sensor – still expensive but much better than the alternative.

What a crazy month! The plumber has been here four times and yes – we still have the leak. Debra ended up finding out what the problem was, and it wasn’t actually a plumbing problem! The grout in our shower is in really good condition except one little spot that has a small hole, very hard to see. I’ve never done grout work but it’s just a little spot and after doing some research I think that I will be able to take care of it.

We are thankful for all of the things that God has taught us throughout this past month and know that He has it all in His hands. Thank you for your continued prayers as we carry on in our French study.

On this day..
