A Californian Christmas Comes to an End

Canaan and Grandpa Christmas 2007 Here we are, it’s December 28 an we are one day away from flying back to Canada.  Despite sickness in all three of us we had a great time with family and visiting some friends as well.  Debra’s Uncle, Aunt and cousin from Australia are here visiting, I had never met them before but we have had a great time hanging out together.  We had a big family meal on Christmas day and had fun sharing memories and exchanging gifts.  It didn’t take Canaan long to figure out the ‘unwrapping’ concept.  He was soon tearing open gifts and to our amusement (and his confusion) he began to think that all of the presents under the tree were for him!

Gregg (my brother in law) took us to a hanger today where his dad flies out of.  We took a little tour and were able to check out the planes which were really fascinating.  Debra’s uncle Gary is a pilot and was able to chat with some of the mechanics about some of the more technical aspects of the planes.

We’ll be getting up bright and early tomorrow to head for the airport and travel to Ontario.  We’ll have a week there enjoying a ‘Copeland Christmas’ before finally heading home to Québec to begin our second semester of French study.  Pray for Canaan as we fly tomorrow, he is just now starting to feel better and it probably wouldn’t take much to knock him back into a bad cold.  For those of you in Ontario, we’ll see you soon!

Mitch and Norm

On this day..
