Morning Sickness & Sinus Infection - what a combo!

Morning sickness is in full swing and if that wasn’t enough Debra has been knocked flat by a really bad sinus infection for which she can’t take any medicine. This morning she began throwing up and I took Canaan to church, hopefully giving her a chance to rest with a quiet home. Canaan has been really good though, when we got home from church I whispered to Canaan, ‘mommy is sick and she has a bad headache so we need to be really quiet’, he nodded silently and played very quietly until I put him down for a nap! Every few days Canaan and I have a quiet time where he and I sit on the couch together in silence for 10-20 minutes. He’s really good at it and helps a lot when we are at church and various other places where he needs to be quiet.

I bought some vitamin B for Debra which is supposed to help with the nautiousness - hopefully it does its job! My mom is coming on Wednesday to see Canaan and that will also help Debra get some more rest, Canaan will be busy playing with his grandma. Please pray for Debra as she battles the nasty duo while at the same time continuing her French study. Thanks!

On this day..

I swear by Ginger to ease an upset stomach. Ginger Ale, Ginger Cookies, Ginger Tea, Ginger Root. The root is actually quite tasty, though strong and stringy. You don’t actually eat it, but if you munch on the little strands and crush all the juice out it’s quite helpful.

Hey I have heard that ginger works too. But I’ve never tried it. I did have a friend who was pregnant for twins her doctor recommended hard candies. I gave those a try and they amazingly worked, (I hate hard candies). Oriental stores might sell hard candies with ginger in them. Can you take sudafed for the sines infection or does it not work? We’ll be praying for you.

    Hey,
Sorry to hear Debra isn’t well, been there done that one! Ginger Root is great. If she is having a hard time keeping things down you can get Ginger Root Capsules at juat about any health food store, no taste and with the gel capsules they disolve quickly once down. Praying for you here in Michigan!!

The consensus seems to be ginger. Right now she’s squirting saline up her nose, maybe tomorrow I’ll have to find ginger in some form or another. Thanks everyone!

    Hey Debra,
It looks like I should be having a girl too according to the website you gave me! I hope you feel better!
