The last couple months

My second semester at the University of Laval will be over in two weeks! The University also has a five week intensive course through the month of May and the beginning of June.  I applied for this course months ago and also for a bursary from the government of Ontario that would pay for the next French course not to mention living costs for duration of the program.  Getting this bursary is usually not difficult, it is a simple one page application, the problem is the number of people that apply.  Each year the government performs a ‘lottery’ to randomly select applicants for the bursary.  I lost.  This was a bit of a bummer but it got me thinking about alternatives to the course at the University.  The tutor that Debra and I meet with is a Christian and she loves to help missionaries.  She is preparing a course for missionaries to learn theological terms, how to pray, etc in French at a very, very good price.  Thus I am considering meeting with her during the last five weeks we are here.  She is a good teacher and I would learn a lot of important things as we prepare to go to Guinea to be a part of sharing the news of Jesus Christ.  We are praying about that situation and will see what happens!

On this day..
