Charles Emmaus Copeland
He is here! There isn’t any internet at the hospital so I’m at a coffee shop making a quick post, we’ll have more info for you when we get home tomorrow.
At 1:30pm today we almost went home because Debra’s labour hadn’t progressed. I actually had the bags packed and had taken her jacket out of the closet. Suddenly Debra had a contraction that was a step up from the others. Things went quickly from there. The crazy contractions started around 2pm and right at 6pm Emmaus arrived. And guess how long she pushed for? Only 2 minutes! For a 9 pounder! As you can see from the pictures Emmaus’ face is VERY black and blue. He’s bruised pretty bad not to mention the lack of oxygen. He’s just fine but it’ll take some time for the bruising to go down. Canaan adores him and doesn’t seem jealous at all. We had a little scare part way through the labour, they thought that a blood vessel was in the way of the water breaking but it turned out to be a false alarm. Thank the Lord! His stats are: 9lbs 1 ounce and is 21 inches long. Debra is doing great! She was absolutely amazing. It was much more intense than last time with Canaan but thankfully much shorter. She went from 5cm to full in no time. Here are a few pictures, you know there’ll be plenty more soon! Click the link below for more photos.

Yea!!! Congratulations! Great pictures, now get some sleep!
What a doll! He looks just perfect. I’m so glad to hear that things went well. And quickly! Congrats again!
He is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Quick transitions like that are way more intense and painful. My second birth was just like that too. Have a great first night.
Congratulations!
We are so happy for you all!!!! Congratulations!!!!
Congrats on little Emmaus’ arrival. Having 2 boys is so much fun. Never a dull moment, for sure!
Awesome. You guys blessed to have two beautiful, healthy children. And Canaan and Emmaus are also blessed to have you two as parents.
Congratulations.
Hey you two!
He is a very handsome baby! Thanks Norm for explaining his bruised face. He has very strong looking features. Something I don’t get to experience very ofton with my babies. So the question is would you do the Castor Oil again? Enjoy every momemt it goes so fast even at Emmaus big newborn size of 9lbs 1oz. He makes Cherokee look big and she is only 4 Months ahead. They grow so fast and now Canaan will seem so much older.
Lots of Love,
Way to go Debra! Arent’ short labours amazing? They are intense but so much better I think!:) Emmaus is beautiful. Don’t worry about his bruised little face, that’s exactly what happened with our Benjamin. It’s cuz they shot out like a rocket! Benjamin’s face was bruised for maybe 4 days and then fades back to normal. 2 minutes of pushing, that is so AWESOME! I was praying for you and kept checking your facebook updates. Enjoy your new little baby and may you feel incredibly blessed!
