Wow, what a week!
I decided to take a few minutes out to put up a quick update. I spent the weekend in Québec, it was a very rewarding, fun experience! During our time in Québec we met a lot of people and made a lot of friends, most of which are from one church that we went to. It was our 2nd last weekend in Canada and my last opportunity to head up to Québec. Debra found me a good ticket and so I flew up for two days. I drove around visiting friends and had a change to share a little bit during the service (in French of course!). I flew back Sunday night and was met by Debra and Emmaus, Canaan was with Papa and Grandma. We stayed in Toronto for the night because we had an appointment bright and early Monday morning at the US consulate. We had all our paperwork to acquire Emmaus’ American citizenship, but we were almost denied! We brought everything that we took to get Canaan’s citizenship but we found out that the requirements for proof of citizenship had changed. They took a look at Canaan’s file and after moments of praying we were told that Emmaus would be granted citizenship.
We got home at a decent time, had supper and went straight to packing. We worked to a little past midnight and then got to bed. Today was an awesomely productive day. Our friend Melanie Seaborne came to help us. She watched the kids all day as we packed like crazy! We got a LOT done. Though we really don’t have time for it, we’re heading up to Owen Sound tomorrow for a midwives appointment for the baby and then run some errands before even MORE packing!
All of our stuff has to get down to Kitchener on Friday. Some of it is being shipped to Missouri where it will be held until we go to Guinea and the rest of it will be going to California. Our plan is to be out of our house this Friday and stay with my parents for the weekend before heading out Monday morning.
Here we come California!
On this day..
