Almost Shipped

Well, all that I can say is that it’s been a pretty wild week – one that God has used to remind me of who is in control! Last week I sent out a few emails to get an idea on when we should start gathering together items to ship to Guinea. The response I got was: «In ten days!» Woah! If we wanted our items to be on the next shipment to Guinea it needed to be in Missouri by the 11th.  We began what seemed like (and turned out to be) an impossible task. We had to organize and ship a few boxes from our home in California to Missouri, order many items online and make a lot of big decisions when it comes to our electrical system in Guinea. This all came days before our planned anniversary get away. God knew though that we needed a weekend away. We just forgot about all the stresses and relaxed. On Monday though there it all was again. I made a few phone calls and it was finally decided that our batteries (which will power our home) and a generator would not arrive in time for this shipment.

In some ways it was a bit of a relief. We have a little more time to plan and hopefully be prepared a little ahead of time. The next shipment to Guinea is due mid to late May. We are planning on getting everything in order over the next couple of weeks. We also have a newsletter going out in the next few days that will explain our shipments to Guinea a little more clearly.

Thanks so much for your support as we get into the homestretch before leaving for Guinea!

On this day..
