Less than three weeks
Last Tuesday was the 3 week mark on our count down! After training for four years, learning French for a year and raising support for yet another year it feels quite surreal!
We are busy visiting with friends and family and squeezing in all of the other things that need to be done to tie everything up here in North America. Today we went for immunizations. It was not pleasant. All of us were a little behind on regular immunizations and so we got those along with the ones recommended for travel to Guinea. Deb and I both had six shots a piece and Canaan had one. Emmaus is too young to get any of the Guinea related vaccinations so we’ll have to get them later when he’s old enough. We also purchased Malaria pills, just enough to get us over there and then we ‘ll continue to buy them in Guinea.
It was a little scary as they totalled our bill, it came to $1460, but hey, God asked to go to Guinea so he will take care of it :)
We’ll keep you updated with more news as our departure nears!
