12 Days and Counting
In 12 days we leave for Guinea! We’re going to do a short post every day before we leave with a little information about our day and what we are up to as we come close to the eve of our departure. Today was a day of errands. Deb finally was able to order a new pair of glasses. She’s had her current glasses for five years and definitely needed the prescription updated. They were also BADLY scratched. During jungle camp in 2006 I accidently stepped on them in the middle of the night, grinding them into our dirt floor. I’m very glad that she’s finally been able to get a new pair. We’re also on the look out for a small, point and shoot camera to take to Guinea, if you have any suggestions, let us know! We also finalized our prayer cards which we will be sending out soon. We’ve also been corresponding daily with our coworkers in Guinea as they prepare for our arrival. A HUGE thanks goes to the Dias family who have worked hard for months and months through all of the details of arranging for our presence.
Today I set up a clock at Gregg and Kathleens house with Guinea and Paraguay time. Deb and Kathleen’s cousins, Shaun and Mel Humphreys are missionaries in Paraguay. I hope that it will help them feel a little more connected to us and the Humphreys.
Check back tomorrow for another post!

12 days you guys!?! That’s insane!
I just bought the Canon Powershot SX200 IS and totally love it! It’s a little pricey but has an amazing zoom and lots of neat features. It may be a kind of big for what you’re looking for – not quite as compact as some of the small ones that are out there.
I’ll be praying over the next couple of weeks! I’m sure you’ve got lots to do!
So glad Deb got herself a new pair of eyes. Those should be #1on the list. I know that they are expensive. I went 6 weeks without any glasses because mine broke in half and I didn’t have any spares. I can not begin to tell you how hard those 6 weeks were without them. Headaches, and anger were two of my bigger memories. I couldn’t drive or judge distances. I couldn’t see dirt or find things. Oh those weeks were horrible. So don’t forget to bring an old pair of glasses incase your new ones break. I hope that one doesn’t happen.
She found a great deal, $99 for two pairs. She also ordered a pair of prescription sun glasses, expensive but really necessary. We’ll be glad she did.
