10 Days…

Ok, so if you’re living in the EST, you’re probably thinking that I’m a day late on today’s post. It’s close, but where I am its only 11:30 :) Today marked 10 days until our departure for Guinea. In some ways, today felt like a typical Saturday, which is nice because we haven’t had a lot of Saturdays like that lately. We hung out around the house until noon and then walked with some friends and family to a nearby restaurant. As usual, mom and dad had the kids, allowing us to get some work done. Debra went out this afternoon in search of a jogging stroller, or at least some sort of stroller rugged enough for our life in Guinea. She didn’t have a lot of luck but she’s still searching. We enjoyed a family swim in a neighbours pool before a delicious tri-tip dinner.  Looking forward to even more family filled days between now and August 4th.

On another note, Emmaus turned 8 months today! He is a busy boy, much more so than Canaan at that age. Emmaus has been crawling and standing up for a couple of months now and desperately wants to walk. He is in love with water, the pool has got to be one of his most favourite locations. It’s so much fun to watch him grow, I can’t wait to see more personality develop. I keep expecting another little Canaan even though I know that’s not how it works!

It’s late and time for bed! More to come tomorrow.
