Shipping and Monster Jam!
First I will try to give you an update from Guinea and then from California!
Norm is working so hard to get out house all packed up and shipped to Dakar. He has been sleeping about 5 hours a night so that he can get as much done as possible and try to work during the cooler morning times. It is reaching around 100 degrees in the mornings plus high humidity.  He will be taking all of the boxes to the airport in the next day. He has been working hard to box, tape, label, and weigh each box. He also has to have a list for customs of what is in each box. Anything that would not fit into a box will not be coming with us. That means we are having to sell all of our appliances and our electrical system and of course every bit of furniture. I am quite sentimental and so its hard for me to give up so many things… But I just have to be content that this is what God has for us in our lives right now.
Pray for Norm, last I talked to him he was getting a sore throat. Pray he is feeling well and if not that God will give him strength to make it though all that he needs to do in the next few days. Pray also that he will figure out a way to get all of the boxes to the airport. In Guinea this is a more difficult task than yo would think. Most everyone just hires a small taxi to move everything… huge piles of  furniture and all.  Pray all goes smoothly and that all the boxes will be safe and make it to its destination. Please pray that the customs will go easy on us… so far we are estimating the customs to be around $2,500. Pray that it will be less than that and definitely not higher! =)

Here in California we have had an exciting weekend… we felt a little guilty having so much fun while Norm is working so hard in Guinea. Friday night we (My dad, Kathleen, Christy, Canaan and I) drove up to Fresno and stayed the night there and Saturday morning we went to MONSTER JAM! If you don’t know what Monster Jam is then just check out MonsterJam.com. Canaan LOVES monster trucks and he has a whole bunch of the little Monster Jam Hotwheels trucks. We got there around 12:00 and headed into the Pit Party. The Pit Party is when you get to go down on the track and check out all the trucks, get pictures and get autographs from the drivers. Canaan was soooo amazed to see these trucks, in life size!  After touring around and checking out the 5 trucks that were out for viewing, we headed up to our seats. We had pretty good seats, we even had the aisle! It was so fun watching those huge trucks jumping in the air and we had a few flip over! It was so fun. I really think Canaan had a blast. After the Jam we headed back down to Camarillo. It rained quite a bit on the way home, but we made it home safe and sound.  What fun we had. I uploaded 123 photos from the Monster Jam on our flickr photo page. Check it out here.

Please pray for me too, I have come down with a cold and hope to stay healthy enough to watch the boys and look after things here. Â Please check out all the pics on Flickr… we got a ton of great shots! Thanks for your prayers!!
