Tickets to California & Canada

As most of our friends and definitely our family know, we recently had a couple of engagements! Deb’s sister Critter got engaged as well as my brother Ken. This means we have to weddings to get two this summer! One is in June while the other is in July. This is not an easy task when you live in Africa and you have family in California and Ontario, Canada. Thankfully, the Lord provided great ticket prices for us on the tickets we have bought so far.

Here’s our plan so far: All of us will fly to California early June about two weeks before the wedding. I (Norm) will head back to Dakar the day after the wedding while Deb and the boys will stay in California. In mid July I will fly to Canada from Dakar while Deb and the boys will fly in from California. After my brother’s wedding in Canada I will fly back to Dakar and Deb along with the boys will return to California. We will finally be reunited late August when Deb and the boys fly back to Dakar. Sounds complicated but it seems to be the best plan as I can not leave my responsibilities here in Dakar for the whole summer. While I will miss Deb and the boys greatly throughout the summer (we will only be together for about 3.5 weeks from June to August), I am very happy that they will have the chance to be with family.

So far we have bought tickets for three out of the four flights, all that is left is my trip from Dakar to Ontario, Canada. We can’t wait to see all of our friends and family! We feel truly blessed to have the opportunity.
