3 survivors!
Yep! Canaan, Emmaus and I are survivors! We made the 36 hour journey back home to Dakar. And on top of that we have survived 40 hours worth of power outages since we have been home! We are surviving the extreme heat and humidity. We have also survived a record wind/rain storm the day after arriving home. (Norm is also a survivor! He survived nearly 3 months without us! That was not easy!)

Home again! Home again!
The boys were great troopers on our trip back to Dakar. They RUSHED through the hurricane affected airports with me with very minimal complaining. We had to do so much exercise on our layovers that they slept half of the 21 hours worth of airplane time. New York was very busy and crazy and we barely made it to our flight but we were so thankful that everything went so well. We ZERO meltdowns and hardly any bad attitudes. We had no drinks spill all over us and no puking.
The iPad saves the day!

The humidity hit us like a wall when we got off the plane in Dakar. But we were second in line at customs and a new military friend of Norm’s came and got us and swiftly took us through the formalities in customs, all we had to do was stand there!!
The reunion was JOYOUS. I can’t think of any other word to describe it. Hugs and love all around. It was so wonderful! We have had such a great 5 days of spending time together and settling back into life in Africa.
My allergies started right back up as soon as I got off the plane. But God knows! We are planning on starting an allergy shot treatment in the near future. We are hopeful that they will be really helpful.
The kids start school on Thursday. Its been nice to readjust to life in Senegal before school starts. But we are looking forward to things getting back to our normal schedule.

Wow, great H. My emotions were all over the place. Highs and lows. I guess that is life. I will continue to pray for you. Love and miss you so much. Mom
Wow! Awesome! Glad you are together as a family. Thank you for the update!
Praying for you, Debs, in regard to allergies. Been there, done that—and it’s hard. Praying that the allergy shots are effective (Aunt Leah did this.)
