Debra’s tonsillectomy has finally arrived. After years of battling strep throat (Debra seems to get at minimum six cases per year) we’re finally going to say goodbye to her dastardly tonsils.
This surgery has been a long time in the works. When we moved in to our house in Durham in June of 2012 Debra was hit with a few back-to-back cases and we decided that it was finally time to pursue a tonsillectomy. We were able to see the specialist in August and he scheduled us for the procedure in March 2013. Well, Berea had something to say about that! A week after the appointment with the specialist we found out we were expecting our beautiful little surprise baby! So, no tonsillectomy. We didn’t reschedule right away because of the many unknowns. How would the pregnancy go?
Our plan was to wait until Berea was done nursing before going ahead again with the surgery but last summer God used 4 months straight of strep throat to show us that we needed to move ahead anyways and trust Him with the details.
So here we are. Nervous but excited that Debra will, Lord willing, be rid of her constant cases of strep throat.
We look forward to seeing what God’s plan is for us this week, knowing and trusting that His plans are perfect!
Keeping on praying, Debra’s tonsillectomy is scheduled for tomorrow (2014–01–20) at 1:45pm EST.
