Québec Winter Carnival
Today the Québec winter carnival begins amongst the flurries of snow. The Québec winter carnival is the biggest winter carnival in the world with close to 1 million participants each year. We are excited to enjoy some of the countless activities over the next couple of weeks. Some of the attractions and events include a [...]
Rental Car, Wind and a Dead Battery
Last night around 9pm we arrived home after a long drive across Ontario and Québec. We awoke yesterday to an unbelievably windy day. Apparently the entire province of Ontario was under severe wind warnings along with parts of Québec. We drove to Brampton to pick up our rental car where it almost seemed like a [...]
Car Update
After our car melt down yesterday, I met Debra at the shop and the mechanics immediately put it up on the hoist. To make a long story short it turned out that our problem wasn’t caused by the recent oil change but by a blown cam seal. I don’t know a lot about cars so [...]
Free Rice

The Almighty…. Canadian Dollar?

Scary
This morning while I was at school someone managed to gain access to our email account while Debra was already logged in to it. They started using Gtalk to chat with our contacts and began asking for money. He said that he was in Morocco and was claiming that he was poor and that his [...]
Oh Well
We thought we had our communications all figured out until sometime this morning both our Internet and phone line went dead! I was a little bummed out since I spent over an hour on the phone last night with customer support trying to get it all to work together. Apparently what happened was that when [...]
Oh me nerves!
About two weeks ago I visited the dentist to get a number of cavities taken care of. It was my third time in three weeks, apparently there was a lot to do. This time I was getting a few done so two needles were necessary to numb me. The second needle was injected near the [...]

Over the last two years a large number of students and staff here at New Tribes Mission of Canada have started blogs to document their journey and to help keep their family and friends up to date. Last year, while we were in our first year of training with NTMC, a second year student named [...]
Finally!
After some very unwelcome weather last week including snow, rain and bitter cold the weather yesterday seemed pristine! It was beautiful: warm, sunny and a slight breeze. Those first nice days after winter always seem to give me a bit more energy. The upcoming forecast looks just as good, have a great weekend everyone!
